As early as you can — one date can only be given to one couple. Most couples book six to twelve months ahead, but it is always worth asking about a shorter notice date. A 50% deposit secures the day.

What if our venue does not allow dogs all day?

That is exactly what the service is for. Poppy brings your dog for the ceremony and the photographs, then takes them away for a walk, water, food and a rest, and home again — so the venue rules are respected and your dog is never left in a car or a spare room.

Can our dog wear a collar, bandana or flowers?

Yes. Send the outfit ahead or hand it over on the day and Poppy will get your dog dressed, brushed and photo-ready, and keep an eye on it all day.

What areas do you cover for weddings?

Redcar, Marske, New Marske, Saltburn, Guisborough, Middlesbrough and the surrounding area as standard, with travel within ten miles of Redcar included. Venues further out across Teesside, County Durham and North Yorkshire are welcome — travel beyond ten miles is charged at 45p per mile.

How much does a wedding dog chaperone cost?

The Mini package is £125 for up to three hours covering the ceremony and photographs. The Full Day package is £185 for up to six hours. Extra dogs are £30 each and extra hours are £20.

Our venue only allows dogs for the ceremony — is that a problem?

Not at all — that’s exactly what this service is for. Poppy brings your dog for the ceremony and photographs, then takes them away for a walk, water, food and a proper rest, and home again. Your dog is never left in a car, a crate or a spare room.

Do you meet our dog before the day?

Always. A free meet & greet is included with every wedding booking, and a longer pre-wedding practice session can be added for £15 so the day itself feels familiar rather than strange.

Can our dog wear a bandana, collar or flowers?

Yes — send the outfit ahead or hand it over on the day. Poppy will get your dog dressed, brushed and photo-ready, and keep an eye on it all day (florals have a way of becoming a snack).

What if our dog gets overwhelmed?

Poppy watches for it all day — heat, noise, crowds, tiredness — and there’s always a quiet spot, water and a break lined up. If your dog has had enough, they go home early and happy. Their welfare comes before the photo list, always.

Is Poppy insured?

Yes — full public liability and care, custody & control insurance, plus DBS checked and trained in canine first aid. Venues and photographers are welcome to ask for the certificate.

What about deposits and cancellations?

A 50% deposit secures the date and the balance is due 14 days before. If you postpone rather than cancel, the deposit moves with you to the new date at no extra charge. Full details are on the booking & cancellation policy page.

Absolutely — parties, family shoots, engagement photos, christenings, anniversary dos. Same packages, same care. Just ask.
